I started presenting at 5mbs in December 2020, so I have been here for 4 years now. I present Jazz at 4 twice a month on Thursdays (Modern Jazz), and occasional Monday Jazz at 4 (Bebop and Beyond), Jazz Encounters, Jazz Moods, and Sunday Jazz Lunch.

I have been a listener and member for some time and enjoy Jazz since my early years studying guitar. Through mutual friends, I met Dave Anthony (another presenter), and enquired about volunteering once I retired from work. Dave was my mentor as I learnt the process. The rest is history!

I enjoy the challenge of producing my own program, and the occasional on-air interviews. It also gives me an opportunity to discover new artists and research the music that I have a passion for.

My favourite style of Jazz is Hard Bop and Modern Jazz. Composers such as Miles Davis, Horace Silver and Thelonious Monk are amongst my favourites, and I do like the Brazilian Bossa Nova composer Antonio Carlos Jobim, and the Latin jazz styles. I was the station’s Jazz Co-ordinator for a year before stepping down for health reasons.

Having retired from full time work, I am in a local band, The Rejuvenators, and do a bit of part time guitar teaching. Also, I am a member of the local Gym, and participate in Pétanque (French Boules) and Summer Lawn Bowls. My wife and I also enjoy travel.
