Avi Avital, the Paganini of the mandolin, will be in Adelaide on the 6 October 7.30pm, Adelaide Town Hall, ready to wow the audience with his virtuosity and charisma. Avi has a number of recordings with Deutsche Grammaphon as well as having established an international career since he began playing in a small mandolin orchestra in his home town in Israel. He’s fun to interview as well, excusing my ignorance about mandolins with patience and good humour.

Leigh Capel

If Hitler had been a modern artist rather than an expert draftsman of traditional paintings we might have been spared the horrors of WWII. Leigh Capel is an expert on the whole story of art during that  period of German History, and he tells the story well. You can hear him at length, with lots of images displayed on 12 October. There are two sessions. 1030am at St Andrews Church, 43 Church Terrace, Walkerville and 7.30pm Burnside Uniting Church, 384 Portrush Road, Tussmore.

Under the auspices of the ADFAS Adelaide branch.
