AYO National Music Camp – Summer Concert Series

From symphonic greats to contemporary gems, there’s something to suit every taste at the Australian Youth Orchestra’s Summer Concert Series!

Australian Youth Orchestra returns to Adelaide in 2023 for the 75th anniversary of AYO National Music Camp! These thrilling performances will feature 220 talented young musicians selected from around the country led by internationally renowned conductors James Judd and Umberto Clerici, alongside chamber music director Elizabeth Layton and artist-in-residence Tahlia Petrosian.

Be treated to a diverse showcase of works from Beethoven, Ravel, Shostakovich and more across a series of seven concerts. The orchestras will also explore an exciting range of contemporary works such as Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte, and Australian compositions including Katia Beaugeais’ ethereal Like Snow Drops You Will Shine and Maria Grenfell’s ode to the Tasmanian landscape River Mountain Sky.

This annual gathering of performers, composers, arts administrators at AYO National Music Camp is a highlight of the year for young Australian musicians and it is inspiring to witness what can be achieved when these musical minds combine their enthralling energy and passion for music.
