Eat The rich (but maybe not me matesX)

Finding yourself well out of your comfort zone can be challenging, or intimidating or both.

The story of Jade, finding herself moving from a working class Liverpool family to the hallowed  halls of Cambridge highlights with humour just how daunting the social caste system in England can be. With humour and consumate skill, she leads the audience through the valleys and mountains where her path leads her from manning a call centre to Cambridge, until she finds her own way, without compromising her identity.

The story has an authenticity, based as it is on her own experience. Jade tells it with a lively energy and engaging personality, which holds the audience spell bound to the end. Liverpool is not discarded, and Cambridge is accepted on her terms.

Directed by Tatenda Shamiso this is a fast moving thoroughly enjoyable show, but, as with all good shows, it leaves a message or two for the audience to ponder.
