Kaleidoscope is one of the ways by which 5mbs links our station to the wider music community. As well it looks further afield, from time to time, at local drama, art and literature. It is an important link to the wider listening audience as I talk with some very interesting people about what involves them most.

Leanne Nicholls, a musician originally from Adelaide, has been settled in Hong Kong for over thirty years. She is the Founder, Artistic Director and Principal Oboist of City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong. Following from this she created and produced numerous multi-media programs, and musicals, including WILD the Musical which won an international award. While holidaying in Adelaide she talks to Kaleidoscope about her experiences in Hong Kong.
Celia Craig, not daunted even by a broken ankle, is presenting Collectif: Arc-en Ciel, at Beaumont House on November 30, 3-4pm. This will serve as the city launch of the Arc en Ciel CD, and she will be joined by a quartet as they play music inspired by the surroundings. Hopefully it will be a sunny day and you can enjoy the garden setting as the music plays from the the balconies. Bring a picnic basket. If it rains you will be under shelter! Fiona Peterson has donned her administrator and organiser hat to talk about the Music Broadcasting Societies of Australia National Young Virtuoso Award, which Adelaide is hosting this year. There are five very talented musicians from around Australia competing for a substantial prize, judged by two noted musicians who will be adjudicating. This is a chance to support classical music and enjoy a very pleasant afternoon at St John’s Anglican Church, Sunday 23 November 2.30pm. Book through trybooking.com
