 Interview with Bass-baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes

The noted international singer Teddy Tahu Rhodes, originally from New Zealand, has now become part of the music scene in Adelaide, through his connection with the Elder Conservatorium of Music.

By choice he began his professional life as a singer a little later than some, but he began in style at the Sydney Opera House. Since then he has performed in major opera houses in a number of countries and recorded opera, oratorio and art songs.

Teddy has sung leading roles in Australian and world premiers, such as the opera Dead Man Walking, composed by Jake Heggie. The Australian premier was in August 2003..

In the next Adelaide Festival of Arts he will be appearing in the opera Innocence composed by Kaija Saariaho opening on February 28

Teddy has toured Australia and recorded  From Broadway to La Scala, together with Greta Bradman, Lisa McCune and David Hobson.
