Program to be broadcast on 26 February at 6.00pm and 1 March at 11.00am or Listen on Demand via 5mbs.com
We are still talking about Adelaide Festival and Fringe programs apart from one deviation taking a fresh look at Miriam Hyde through the fresh eyes of Celia Craig.
My guests are: Celia Craig, Anne Wiberg, Seamas Carey, plus information about Jess Hitchcock and the Penny Quartet, and Georgina Bowden whose composition is being performed by Musikfabrik.
Too many people think of Miriam Hyde as an old lady with grey hair who wrote pieces to be played in AMEB piano exams. Through her research Celia Craig has brought the young Miriam to life, full of talent an whose compositions were played by top orchestras in London. A musician of whom we should be very proud.
Anne Wyberg talks about The Courtyard Festival Plaza, their fabulous Festival meeting place for pre-show and post-show drinks and entertainment from the 27 February to 26 March. Free Entry
We were not able to speak to Glenn Christensen who is the lead violinist in the Musica Viva event,Jess Hitchcock and the Penny Quartet. They are performing in the Adelaide Town Hall 1 March 7.30pm
We were able to play part of the music which the Quartet will be playing. Most of the program will feature the singer Jess Hitchcock together with the Pennies, as they are called.
NB A special concert on 28 February. 4.30pm Medley Rehearsal Studio Conservatorium of Music The University of Adelaide. An exclusive performance by musicians from Ensemble Musikfabrik, based in Cologne. Their program features a new work by Adelaide composer Georgina Bowden, Figure-ground, inspired by her time at Uluru.
