Kaleidoscope Arts Magazine

Kaleidoscope is an Arts Magazine.  This program is one of the ways that 5mbs links our station to the wider music community as well as looking further afie24ld, from time to time, at local drama, art and literature. It is an important link to the wider listening audience as we talk with some very interesting people about what interests them most. You can hear it on Wednesday 6.pm or Saturday 11am. This week features Anne Cawrse Keir Nairn and James Logan These three represent some of the musical talent, established, emerging, and on the cusp among local musical achievers.

ANNE CAWRSE

Anne is an established composer with her work now being performed all over Australia. She talks about the processes involved in composing when commissioned, as well as how she find inspiration in art, poetry and nature.

JAMES LOGAN

James, through his continued study of the lute in the UK is developing as a musician, gaining performance experience and working toward a Masters Degree in Musicology. He plays Lute and Theorbo and has,at times, joined the Adelaide Baroque Orchestra as a guest musician while Adelaide.

KEIR NAIRN

Keir is a teenager who plays cello, trombone, double bass and guitar to a high level. His parents, Robert Nairn and Heidi van Bernewitz are both accomplished musicians and have fostered Keir in his love of music. He is in the process of recording a number of songs he has written for guitar, and he performs one of these in the studio. He may or may not pursue a career in music, but it will always be an important part of his life,
