Kaleidoscope is one of the ways by which 5mbs links our station to the wider music community as well as looking further afield, from time to time, at local drama, art and literature. It is an important link to the wider listening audience as I talk with some very interesting people about what involves them most.
It is broadcast on Wednesday 6.pm or Saturday 11am. In your own time you can access it through Listen on Demand via 5mbs.com.
This week the program is broadcast on Wednesday 207August 6.00pm and Saturday 30 11.00am
You will meet: Aldis Sils and Joon-Lee Kwok
ALDIS SILS is the Music Director of the Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus which is giving a concert, Magnificent Winter at 3.00pm, August 31 at Elder Hall.
The choir will be accompanied by piano, organ, cellos and percussion with soloists soprano Chany Hoffman and tenor Kim Worley.
Akdis Sils also talked about the Marryatville Special Music Interest School end of year concert at the Adelaide Town Hall on 27 August. He says it is ‘no ordinary concert’ but something special. Tickets can be bought at the door.
JOON-LEE KWOK
The OzAsia Festival 2025 opens on 17 October until 9 November with a number of events, including music, dancing, writers, comedy, art, food and display.
Joon-Lee Kwok, Festival Director, talks about many of the highlights, one of whom is the jazz pianist Hiromi. Another is William Yang in Milestone with the Ensemble Lumen and music by Elena Kats-Chernin, and these two are just a start!
