Kaleidoscope is one of the ways by which 5mbs links our station to the wider music community. As well it looks further afield, from time to time, at local drama, art and literature. It is an important link to the wider listening audience as I talk with some very interesting people about what involves them most.

The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra has announced its program for 2026 and Colin Cornish, Executive Director, by phone in a busy Sydney airport, talks about some of the highlights for next year.
Jude Owens-Fleetwood is competing in the 5mbs Adelaide Virtuoso Award 2025, in the String Division.
He began playing the violin at the age of two and a half!
Jenny Su is competing in the Piano Division, which she won last year. She is hoping to repeat that success, playing music by Lizst and Stravinsky.
Gianna Guttilla is competing in the Voice Division. She has a great love for Puccini operas as well as Art Songs and German Lied.

There is lots of musical events planned for the rest of this year. In the meantime enjoy the Local Concerts, featuring our wonderful local musicians.
