Kaleidoscope is one of the ways by which 5mbs links our station to the wider music community. As well it looks further afield, from time to time, at local drama, art and literature. It is an important link to the wider listening audience as I talk with some very interesting people about what involves them most.

The Proms at St John’s
Becky Llewellyn is both a composer and a member of the Corinthian Singers, so she is in a good place to talk about their next concert – a partly serious but also light hearted concert based on the BBC Proms, as well as to talk about her own contribution to the concert, ‘Where is my……Waltz?

Aldis Sils
Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus is presenting Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle at Elder Hall 15 November 7.30pm. Musical Director Aldis Sils talks about the background to this work which was the last major composition by Rossini. The concert will feature soloists, Deborah Johnson, Emma Woehle, Jiacheng Ding and Jeremy Tatchell, and an ensemble with Jamie Cock and Nerissa Pearce (pianos)and Haowei Yang (harmonia)

Peter Goers
Peter Goers is treading the boards once more in the role of Elwood P. Dowd in the classic comedy Harvey. This is story about a man with an imaginary friend- a Rabbit, but it is also a feel good story full of warmth and humour. It’s a change for him to be acting rather than directing, and he is looking forward to the experience, he says, with some trepidation.
Peter is supported by an highly experienced cast featuring Rebecca Kemp in the glorious role of the raddled sister, Veta. Opening on 4 November at Holden Street Theatre until 22 November with a number of matinees.
