Kaleidoscope is one of the ways by which 5mbs links our station to the wider music community. As well it looks further afield, from time to time, at local drama, art and literature. It is an important link to the wider listening audience as I talk with some very interesting people about what involves them most.
Broadcast on Wednesday 6.00pm and Saturday 11.00am. In your own time you can access Kaleidoscope through Listen on Demand via 5mbs.com.
Program for Wednesday 26 November and Saturday 29 November.
You will meet: Dane Lam, Karl Geiger, and Greg Hocking.
State Opera South Australia has just launched their 2026 season and Artistic Director
Dane Lam gives insights as to how a season is planned, some of the singers you will hear and a very interesting new opera composed for babies. You can never start too young!
Karl Geiger, Director of Graduate Singers, talks about the Songs of Joy, a special Christmas program at St Peter’s Cathedral 12 December 7.30pm. Works by local composers, international composers, dead or alive, as well as some old favourites, when you can sing along with the choir.
Greg Hocking is a conductor who is bringing the international celebrated tenor, Juan Diego Florez to Adelaide. Greg’s own association with opera has led him to connect with some of the greats, and he is certain that Juan Diego is one of the best in the world. You can hear for yourselves at Her Majesty’s Theatre on 3 December 8.00pm Tickets available at premier.ticketek.com.au
