CAROLINE MIGNONE has been a regular performer with State Theatre since 1990. Her next role with this group is in The Importance of Being Earnest, which on 8 May (preview) and Opening Night 12 May at Dunstan Theatre. Caroline has a special love of the work of Oscar Wilde and she speaks about this and her role as Reverend Chasuble.
NICHOLAS LESTER has now returned from a successful career as a singer, in the UK, to settle in Adelaide where he began his career. He is playing the role of Dandini in La Cenerentola, by Rossini, which is being presented by State Opera South Australia.
The opera opens on 7 May at Her Majesty’s Theatre and has only four performances, which is a shame because it sounds like a wonderful production with top class singers, directed by Neil Armfield and conducted by Stuart Stradford with The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and State Opera Chorus
KEITH CRELLIN has just announced his retirement from the Adelaide Youth Orchestra, which he has directed for twenty-four years. He will be conducting his last orchestral concert, Living Legacy, on 27 June at the Adelaide Town Hall, celebrating the 25th anniversary of AdYO.Keith also talks about his successor Lloyd Van’t Hoff whose appointment has just been announced. He will make his debut as AdYO conductor 26 September.
