Kaleidoscope Arts Magazine

Kaleidoscope is an Arts Magazine program designed to bring the music, drama and literature in the Adelaide community, and from wider afield, to our listeners.  It is produced and presented by Emily Sutherland and can be heard each Wednesday at 6.00pm with a repeat on Saturday 11.00am. or Listen on Demand to Kaleidoscope by accessing 5mbs.com  

Meet: an Adelaide Arts Festival performer, Robert Davidson, an Adelaide Fringe producer and performer, Emma Knights, the Director of the National Portrait Gallery, Sandra Bruce and the International Patron of the Accompanists Guild of SA, Phillip Moll, all gathered, one by one, to talk on Kaleidoscope this week. 

Silent Strength 2021 by Wayne Quillam Winner

The fifty finalists, including the winner of the National Photographic Portrait Prize 2021 are on display at the David Roche Foundation in North Adelaide. Sandra Bruce, who was one of the judges talks about the exhibition. The National Photographic Portrait competition had two thousand and four hundred entries, with prize monies of more than $50,000, and some wonderful portraits. The exhibition is open until 1 April.

Robert Davidson

A musician and successful composer, Robert Davidson, together with Sonya Lifschitz, are performing So Much Myself:Piano Portraits at the Adelaide Town Hall on 17 March 7.30pm. Part of the Festival, this program weaves together archival footage, narrative, and melody.

Phillip Moll

Phillip Moll, from Boston, now in Berlin, is a pianist who has worked with some eminent musicians, such as James Galway and Jessye Norman, as well with orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic. He came to Adelaide as a guest of the ACSA and took time to give master classes.

Emma Knights has six shows in the Fringe, in which she either directs (Pirates of Penzance) or plays and sings her own music. You might find her performing in the Botanic Gardens, or at the Unley Town Hall, as you eat scones with jam and cream.
