Musica Viva is presenting a concert in Adelaide on 23 August and Australian cellist James Morley will join two other musicians in this program titled ‘Silk, Metal, Wood’.
Yundi Yuan talks about the musicians and concerts being presented at the Accompanists Guild Festival celebrating their Ruby anniversary.
Originally from Adelaide James Morley is now studying in Basel, Switzerland but he has come to Australia to join the Musica Viva tour. Among the pieces he will play is a new work by Adelaide composer Jakub Jankowski.
The other musicians in this tour are cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras and koto and bass koto player Satsuki Odamura.
Yundi Yuan,is a doctoral candidate at Elder Conservatorium, and also the Festival Coordinator for the Accompanists Guild of South Australia’s Ruby anniversary concerts.

There will be a series of concerts involving professional musicians, and advanced students on August 20 at Elder Hall. This event is a joint collaboration with the Elder Conservatorium.
