Travel and music have been a mainstay in my life since childhood.

As a journalist working first in Radio, then TV and later writing travel guides, over the years I often managed to combine this love of travel & live music.  Especially when in the Caribbean, W’Indies, USA and UK.

Living in New Orleans over 4 months was a highlight and I love the city’s Gumbo of Jazz. My years in Birmingham UK were great too. At the time, it had the UK’s biggest Jazz festival, Reggae dancehalls and the second Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. London is still the UK Mecca for jazz-lovers though!

I started my career in local radio & enjoyed the camaraderie. Working freelance allowed time to volunteer and in 2014 Jazz program presenting at 5MBS became a happy reality.  The passion we all have for music and the knowledge displayed by so many is quite special.
