About Meg Alexander
I joined 5MBS after hearing a call out for presenters in May 2021– I just knew I wanted to do this! By July of that year I was presenting classical programs and October saw me begin to do Jazz Lunch on the first Sunday of the month. I have loved listening to music of all genres for as long as I can remember and have been going to concerts all my life. It has been an awesome experience channelling this into my programming and presenting. More recently, I have joined the 5MBS Board. I took up learning music as an adult and my instrument is the flute (and yes-flute does pop up in my jazz and classical programs!). I have enjoyed a variety of performance experiences as an adult amateur, plus I am a member of the Holdfast Bay Concert Band. During COVID I completed Grades 1-3 AMEB Music Theory and I hope to go further with that as I juggle my working and volunteering lives. Being a presenter has given me an amazing opportunity to explore music in greater depth, from iconic works to hidden gems, incorporating diverse instrumentation and eras. My aim is to deliver entertaining programs for your listening pleasure.
