Adelaide Youth Orchestras Wins ‘Best Music Educator’ at the 2022 South Australian Music Awards

On Friday afternoon, Adelaide Youth Orchesras were awarded with ‘Best Music Educator’ at the 2022 South Australian Music (SAM) Awards’ Industry event.
The annual awards exist to recognise, promote, and celebrate excellence in the SA Music Industry.
The award was presented by the Hon. Andrea Michaels MP (Minister for the Arts) and Christine Schloithe (CEO of Music SA).

AdYO Executive Director Ben Finn noted as part of the acceptance: ‘…for our UNESCO City of Music, young people need to be at the centre of Adelaide and everything that we do. Our music education ecosystem here is unlike anywhere else in Australia. Our hope is that our young people are prioritised more and really become the face of music in our state’.

Congratulations from the 5mbs team to the 40+ Music Education Professionals/Conductors/Tutors who work with AdYOs throughout the year, the Education Coordinator Georgia Gamble (and Lexi Buxton for her work through 2021), to the amazing schools which work with the AdYO, and to all AdYO members!
AdYO gave a special thank you to the Department for Education, James and Diana Ramsay Foundation, Arts South Australia, and to all of our ongoing supporters.
