Expressions of Interest – 5mbs Station Manager

The 5MBS Board is calling for expressions of interest in filling the position of Station Manager.

The Station Manager reports to the Board of Directors and assures the organisation’s compliance with the terms of our broadcasting licence. The position is supported by a number of Coordinators in accordance with the station’s organisation chart and has delegated authority to commit operational and capital expenditure in line with a Board-approved delegated authorities policy. This is a part-time paid position with an honorarium provided in recognition of the provision of services, and the pattern of hours worked per week at the station can be flexible.

The focus of the position is administrative and involves general duties such as:

  • establishing and maintaining an inclusive and welcoming culture
  • providing leadership to Coordinators in developing and implementing operational procedures
  • overseeing the recruitment and efficient management of the station’s volunteers
  • overseeing the training and professional development of the station’s volunteers
  • ensuring the sound management of the station’s financial resources and assets.
