Mark these dates. November 6 at North Adelaide Baptist Church, Tynte Street, 6.30pm where Celia and a group of musicians will play music by Mozart and his Friends, just like Mozart did, back in the day. And yes, Salieri was a friend, not an assassin, as Celia will explain.

A very exclusive soiree, Sunday December 4, from 6.30pm in the North Adelaide Baroque Hall, another step back in time reminiscent of the Salons in Paris. Musicians are Celia Craig, Thomas Marlin, and Michael Ierace. The Baroque Hall is the creation of composer, Julian Cochrane, who wanted to bring an experience of Europe to Adelaide.

It’s an interesting juxtaposition, a  string quartet by contemporary composer Jack Symonds, and Beethoven’s String Quartet in c#minor opus 131. Violinist Dale Batrop gives a fascinating insight into both works, which you can hear on 18 October 7.00pm Adelaide Town Hall, or 21 October at Ukaria 11.00am.

James Skelton in the studio at 5mbs. Says he enjoyed the interview.

A very young musician with his future before him. If you hear him at the YVA finals St John’s Anglican Church, Halifax Street, on 23 October 2.30pm, and he later become famous, you can tell everyone you heard him first. He plays the clarinet.

Information about the YVA is the website 5mbs.com.au
