Kaleidoscope Arts Magazine

Kaleidoscope is an Arts Magazine program  with news of the music and creative community in Adelaide and sometimes further afield.  It is presented by Emily Sutherland.

This weeks program will be broadcast on the 20 April 6.00pm and repeated 23 April at 11.00am. The guests are Deborah Cheetham, composer and singer, Julia Fredersdorff, from Van Diemen’s Band, and a surprise interviewer speaking to the singer Mirusia.

Find out the difference between Welcome to Country and Acknowledgement of Country as explained by Deborah Cheetham  http://www.deborahcheetham.com who has composed the latter to open the Australian Festival of Chamber Music in Townsville. She will perform it with the Goldner Quartet. Learn more about Deborah’s music and listen to an excerpt from her composition Eumerella – a war requiem based on the frontier wars.

Julia is the founder of the baroque music group, Van Diemen’s Band, which will be playing as part of the Musica Viva season in Adelaide on 28th April at the Adelaide Town Hall. Julia describers the different instruments played and the special appeal of early music to the band of highly professional and experienced musicians who will be coming to our city.
