Kaleidoscope Arts magazine

Kaleidoscope is an Arts Magazine program designed to bring the music, drama and literature in the Adelaide community, and from wider afield, to listeners.  It is produced and presented by Emily Sutherland and can be heard each Wednesday at 6.00pm with a repeat on Saturday 11.00am. or Listen on Demand to Kaleidoscope by accessing 5mbs.com  then click Listen on Demand then Kaleidoscope.

Kathy Selby and Paul Kildea are joined by James Huon George in this weeks Kaleidoscope bringing you news about upcoming events  this year and music in 2024. 

Paul Kildea is the Artistic Director of Musica Viva. He talks about many of the musicians and composers who will be featured in their 2024 program.

Kathy Selby with her Friends will be along on 29 October at Elder Hall 2.15pm to present a program which includes Copland, Arensky and Schubert. As ever she talks about the chosen music with musical insight.

Pianist James Huon George will be playing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 1 at the Baroque Hall  in North Adelaide on 2 November 2.00pm. A small group of musicians will perform a modified arrangement of the orchestral part of the concerto. This arrangement is possibly how it was performed in Beethoven’s early career.

James explains it all, together with his own approach to music.
