From 1st September, our regularly saved programs will be available under “Listen on Demand” from the “Listen” menu, as well as from the “Podcast” page, while we change to our new podcasting service provider. Programs will be available for listening at any time for a month of so after they first go to air.
Why?
As a community radio station, we need to comply with the licencing conditions imposed by commercial music companies. This is to ensure that artists actually get rewarded for their work. And of course, it ensures that our licence to broadcast isn’t revoked! We take our responsibility seriously.
For a time, we will run both in parallel. When our new podcasting service is fully implemented, the Podcasts page will provide links to our downloadable podcasts, which will include our interviews and music items for which 5mbs owns the performing rights.
